Madeirahhhh! (now with photo link!)

I went with a couple of friends to the island of Madeira, Portugal this weekend. It was a much needed break! It is so gloomy in London that it is nice to get to see the sun whenever I get a chance. It is a beautiful island and is often described as a floating garden. It has one of the steepest cliffs in Europe and is a popular tourist destination for older English people and Germans. We were some of the youngest people on the island, but we had a great time regardless. It was nice to have a relaxing vacation away from the hustle and bustle of London.

Blue Monday and other weird news

Today was officially the most depressing day of the year. Click on the title for the full article. Apparently, a guy threw himself in front of one of the trains that day, shutting down one of the main tube lines.

In other weird London news, a couple got kicked off a bus because the guy keeps his girlfriend on a chain. The funniest part of the article (click on link below) is what the guy says of his girlfriend: She's very animal like, she's kind of like a pet, as well as a partner. Interesting people here...

Back to Livin' la Vida London

Yes, I have finally made it back to London! For those of you who don't know, I had missed my original flight to London and had to stay for an extra 7 days in Austin for monetary reasons. Luckily, I made my second flight back to London and made it just fine. I was actually pretty happy that I missed my flight because I had time to visit with several more people and the weather was so beautiful! It was great to see the sun for another week!

As expected, London was cold and rainy when I returned. :(

I am so glad that I was able to visit Roman in Hawaii. I had such a great time over there!

FYI, the next few trips I have planned are to Madeira, Portugal; Nice, France; and Barcelona, Spain. If anyone has any hints on what to do in those places, please let me know!
