During the orientation, one of the girls mentioned that she isn't really liking London. She was one of the other Latinas that I had met. Talking to her made me start to wonder what I am doing here: I really don't like having roommates (especially younger ones), I am living off of a very small stipend in one of the most expensive cities in the world (actually, I think it is the first or second most expensive city in the world), and I really don't like the cold weather. I'm trying to remember why I decided to do this...
I guess I like the job okay. It is off to a slow and boring start, but I think it promises to get better.

You're there because it's an awesome experience to live & work in one of the oldest & most important cities in the world. And you speak the language fluently.
I think it's awesome what you're doing there, even if you're not there under the 'best' circumstances. Good things will undoubtedly come of it. Perhaps you'll get a job offer the keep working for UBS, and that wouldn't suck.
Also - I'm digging the blog. The british history was very interesting.

you're there cause it's a once in a lifetime opportunity. it's a great experience. now suck it up! buckle down and get it together! you can do this! this is not about your roommates. this is about YOU and what YOU get out of this great opportunity. you are gonna look back on this post and wonder why you ever posted it. more than anybody i know, you can handle this. keep up the good work.
